Sales Associate

Managing orders and returns of damaged and expired items. Tracking sales and maintaining an accurate daily log sheet and implementing FIFO. • Participating in inventory management activities and organizing warehouse accordingly. • Having a comprehensive understanding of the products sold in the supermarket, including their features, prices, and availability. This includes knowledge of different brands, variations, and any special promotions or discounts. • Ensuring shelves are properly stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged to attract customers and facilitate easy browsing and also Monitoring inventory levels and notify supervisors when stock needs to be replenished. • Operating cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently by handling cash, credit/debit card payments, and issue receipts. • Keeping the sales area, including shelves, counters, and aisles, clean and organized. This includes promptly cleaning up spills, removing empty cartons or packaging, and ensuring a tidy appearance throughout the shift. • Informing customers about ongoing promotions, discounts or special offers in the store. Encouraging customers to take advantage of these deals and upsell complementary products when appropriate. • Addressing customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Escalating any unresolved issues to a supervisor or manager for further assistance. • Following company policies and procedures regarding sales transactions, returns, exchanges, and refunds. Adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards when handling perishable items. • Actively engaging with customers to identify their needs and suggest additional products • Helping in preventing theft and shrinkage by monitoring customer behavior, keeping an eye out for suspicious activity, and following security protocols such as checking receipts when necessary
