REQUIRED LIGHTING ADVISOR
Position Overview:
The Lighting Sales Advisor is responsible for promoting and selling lighting products and solutions to customers, whether in a retail setting, showroom, or through direct sales channels. This role involves understanding customer needs, recommending appropriate lighting systems, and providing expert advice on lighting efficiency, and product features. The Lighting Sales Advisor will also manage customer relationships, ensure a high level of satisfaction, and help drive sales targets for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Consultation and Sales:
Greet customers and understand their lighting needs, whether for home, office, commercial, or industrial spaces.
Advise customers on the most suitable lighting products, including fixtures, bulbs, lighting controls, and accessories, based on their preferences and requirements.
Provide expert guidance on the latest trends in lighting design, energy-efficient lighting, and smart lighting solutions.
Promote upsell opportunities by recommending complementary products and accessories that enhance the customer’s overall lighting experience.
Product Knowledge:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the full range of lighting products, including technical specifications, features, and benefits.
Stay up to date with industry trends, new lighting technologies, and innovations in energy-efficient and smart lighting solutions.
Keep track of inventory and manage product availability to ensure that customer orders can be fulfilled in a timely manner.
Sales Performance:
Meet or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the overall sales goals of the team or department.
Track and report on sales performance, including providing regular updates on sales progress and forecasting future demand.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, ensuring repeat business and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and handle after-sales service requests (such as returns, exchanges, or technical support).
Follow up with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and generate referrals or repeat sales.
Order Processing and Coordination:
Process customer orders accurately, including preparing quotes, providing accurate pricing, and handling payment transactions.
Prepare and maintain sales documentation, including sales reports, quotations, and customer records.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is a plus.
Certifications or courses in lighting design or energy-efficient systems are an advantage.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in retail sales, ideally in the lighting, electrical, or home improvement industry.
Previous experience with design software or knowledge of lighting design tools (e.g., Dialux, Relux) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of electrical systems, lighting technologies, and energy-efficient lighting solutions.
Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, CRM software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex lighting concepts clearly to customers.
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers, resulting in positive relationships and repeat business.
